Tips for increasing your organic reach on search

What is organic reach? Why is it so important to the success of your website and business?
In simple terms, no matter how good your branding may be or how innovative your product or service is, if you're not ranking on the first page of Google's search engine results page potential customers may never know that your business exists.

An interesting statistic I came across which is vital for business is that the number one position on a Google search enjoys a huge 33% of the traffic - so boosting the ranking of your website and pages is essential for attracting customers.
However paid ads or pay per click (PPC) will help to increase the search ranking of your web page but you can’t rely on this method all the time. Below, I will give you 3 tips for improving your organic search and organic traffic to your website.

As the internet becomes a busier place every day, week, month and year as more and more people are setting up businesses and launching them on the web. However, most of these businesses will not survive as they will never rank high enough on Googles organic search which is where you can be seen by customers. It’s important to remember that both Google and the average consumer respond better to organic methods.

1.    Create a Keyword List

The KEY thing for organic search ranking is being able to refine and define a keyword list that you can base your website’s high-quality content around. In simple terms, you’ll be able to pick the most relevant keywords for your website to bring in related traffic that increases your page ranking.
If you target the right keywords for each page of your website based on what you're product or service is and the message you're trying to communicate to them you'll see a massive improvement in your organic search rankings straight away.

3 key questions you should ask yourself are:
·      What keywords will drive conversions?
·      What topics can my keywords be grouped into?
·      What keywords could I generate content on that will result in rankings and traffic?

To start analysing and selecting your keywords, you should use
Google Trends which is an excellent tool for guidance around selecting your keyword list.

2.    Content is King

Content can be a huge way to increase your organic reach on search. If you want your businesses website to be well ranked on Google, you need to regularly post lots of high-quality content. But always remember quality content over quantity will always win. This content does need to have some keywords throughout it and make sure they are relevant to the content of the website. Developing good content will take more time than rushing low-quality content but devoting this time to high quality content will be worth it in the end. Google will reward you with a great search engine ranking, but the potential customers that visit your website will more than likely make a purchase if they like what they see.
The best way to approach your content is to a develop an attitude that it will help you strengthen your business’s brand image and create more awareness of your website.

3.    Create a content strategy

To keep your organic search engine ranking high, you can’t let the quality of your website content drop or even stop for a certain amount of time. You must keep updating the content with new products and ideas to keep potential customers informed as to what is happening within your business. A blog is a great way to do this and can be used to hit your target market.
You also have to promote the content. That’s where social media marketing starts by posting the links to your blog posts, not only helps boost your ranking, but also provides you with an easy way to connect with customers and if they like what you’ve posted, they’ll share the content, extending your reach even further which will increase the traffic to your website and has the potential to turn them into customers.

Your content strategy plan could include these 2 points:
·      How frequently you update your content
·      Which social media platforms you share the content on
